June 27, 2017       Trip Generation: Fast Casual vs Fast Food

The current Trip Generation Manual, 9th Edition, groups restaurants into three categories: quality restaurants, high-turnover (sit-down) restaurants, and fast food restaurants. The food industry has been actively promoting another category between the high-turnover and fast food, generally referred to as ‘fast casual’ restaurants. Falling into this so-called group would be places like Chipotle, Five Guys, and Panera Bread. All represent themselves as separate from fast food, but without a true sit-down experience. In terms of traffic and the trip generation, are they different? In this webinar, we will discuss:

  • The current ITE restaurant definitions.
  • The characteristics of a fast casual restaurant.
  • The trip generation of fast casual versus other restaurants to determine what, if any, difference does exist.

July 25, 2017       Autonomous Vehicles: Changing Trends

Autonomous vehicles are coming – it’s a matter of when, not if. We think they’ll be commonplace within 20 years and that we could see human driving on public streets outlawed in 30 to 40 years. Savvy developers, architects, engineers, and public officials are starting to think about this future and how development will change because of it. Join us to discuss the changes we see coming our way, including:

  • Current state of autonomous vehicles
  • Expected changes in safety and mobility
  • Key ways to plan development around this future
